CAP Distinguished Fellow Sen. Tom Daschle and Senior Fellow Jeanne Lambrew Named to Top Posts

CAP Distinguished Senior Fellow Sen. Tom Daschle speaks at an event for his recently released book, Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.

Former Senate Majority Leader and Center for American Progress Distinguished Fellow Tom Daschle accepted President-elect Barack Obama’s offer to serve as the Secretary of Health and Human Services at a press conference in Chicago today. CAP Senior Fellow Jeanne Lambrew was also tapped as the deputy director of the White House Office of Health Reform.

Sen. Daschle, who focused on energy and health care issues at CAP, and Jeanne Lambrew, a national expert on health reform, most recently published the book, Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis, which they authored along with Scott S. Greenberger.
