Nation Must Invest in Health Care of Children
The debate in Congress over extension of a popular program to
provide health care coverage for more children borders on the
ridiculous.
Reasonable people might disagree about how best to pay for
expanding the State Children's Health Insurance Program, which provides
coverage for millions of children annually.
But the fiercest opposition comes from dogmatic critics who
contend expanding SCHIP will send the country careening into a
government-run health care system.
