Timothy Hogan
Senior Advisor to Distinguished Fellow Sen. Tom Daschle
Timothy Hogan is a Senior Advisor to Distinguished Fellow Sen. Tom Daschle at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, Tim was a legislative aide in the Democratic Leadership Office of Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD), where he managed a variety of different issues including international trade, tax, budget, corporate governance, and foreign affairs. From 1999-2000, he was a member of the Senate Finance Committee's International Trade Staff under Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY). During his time with the Finance Committee, Tim assisted in the drafting and management of several major trade bills, including approval of China's entry to the World Trade Organization and the granting of trade benefits to certain African and Caribbean nations.
Tim is also an associate in the Legislative and Public Policy Group at the law firm Alston & Bird. He has a B.A. from Columbia and a J.D. from Temple University. Tim studied Mandarin at the Beijing Language and Culture University and completed coursework in Chinese Law at Tsinghua University
