Progressivism on Tap: The New Feminist Agenda

with Author and Former Governor of Vermont Madeleine M. Kunin

6:00 - 7:30 PM EDT

The New Feminist Agenda (Book Cover)Madeleine M. Kunin traces the starts and stops of the feminist movement over the last 50 years and plots a course for the future of the feminist movement in her new book The New Feminist Agenda: Defining the Next Revolution for Women, Work, and Family. The first female Governor of Vermont, Kunin argues that despite the transformative changes in work and home life that feminists achieved in the 1960s-70s, many social assumptions have remained rigid – from the lack of paid family leave for working single mothers, to marginal female representation on corporate boards – to the point where the United States now lags behind far behind other countries in gender equity. She underscores the pressing need to for a movement that demands support for working women in every sector, issuing a timely critique on the recent, regressive dialogue about women in society.

Program starts at 6:30 p.m. and will end at 7:30 p.m.
