Joseph Van Houten
Joseph Van Houten is Senior Director of Worldwide Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) at Johnson & Johnson. His responsibilities include global leadership of Johnson & Johnson's occupational safety, industrial hygiene, toxicology, ergonomics and fleet safety programs. In addition, Dr. Van Houten is the corporate EHS liaison for the Consumer Group of Companies and the Latin America-Caribbean region. Joe's background includes over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and health care products industry, initially as a research scientist and now as an EHS leader. Dr. Van Houten is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and is a member of the American Biological Safety Association and American Society of Safety Engineers. He holds a BS degree in Biology from Fordham University, a MS degree in Microbiology from Rutgers University and a PhD degree in Microbiology, which was conferred jointly by Rutgers University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
