Senator Norm Coleman

Senator Norm Coleman serves as the chief executive officer of both the American Action Network and its sister organization, the American Action Forum.

Senator Coleman served as mayor of St. Paul, MN from 1994 to 2002 and represented Minnesota in the United States Senate from 2003 to 2009. In the Senate, he served on the Agriculture, Foreign Relations, and Homeland Security Committees. In addition, he served as chairman and later ranking member of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

Senator Coleman had a well-earned reputation for working in a bipartisan manner in the Senate, particularly in his work with Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, and with Sens. Evan Bayh (D-IN) and Kent Conrad (D-ND) on energy independence issues, Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR) on agriculture, and Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) on adoption issues.

Coleman lost his reelection bid to Al Franken after a lengthy recount and court battle awarded more votes to Franken.
