Philippe Egger

Philippe Egger is currently Senior Advisor to the ILO Director General. His work with the ILO has centered on employment, labour and social policy. He was senior employment specialist in the ILO's employment department since the early 1990s and with the ILO's Office for the Andean countries in Lima, Peru between 1996 and 2000. He joined the Director-General's Office in 2006 where he has contributed to the major publications of the ILO. He has written and published on employment and labour policy and on decent work. He joined the ILO in 1985 having worked earlier with UNICEF in Niger, Africa and with the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development in Geneva. He studied economics and political sciences at McGill University in Canada and the University of Grenoble in France. Philippe Egger is a Swiss national, married with three children.
