Norbert Reithofer

Norbert Reithofer has been the chairman of the board of management of BMW Group since September 1, 2006, and serves as the company's chief executive. Prior to this role, he served as the director of production from 2000 to 2006 and as a member of the management board since March 16, 2000. He was the president of BMW's Manufacturing Corporation in South Carolina from 1997 to 2000; technical director of BMW South Africa from 1994 to 1997; director of the Body-in-white Production Division of BMW from 1991 to 1994; and director of control technologies from 1989 to 1991. He first joined BMW as head of maintenance planning in 1987. Dr. Reithofer received his doctoral and engineering degrees from the Technical University of Munich and the University of Applied Science of Munich. Dr. Reithofer has been a member of the Joint Advisory Council of Allianz SE since January 1, 2007.
