Congressman Robert Wexler
Congressman Robert Wexler is chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and a senior member of both the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. As chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe, Wexler has worked to strengthen the transatlantic alliance, build strong security and economic bonds with the nations of Europe, and help guide the economic and political development of former Soviet states. Recently, Wexler served as an advisor on Middle East and Israel issues to President Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign and was named by the Jewish Daily Forward as one of the top 50 most influential Jewish leaders in America. As Representative for Florida's 19th District, Wexler has championed a wide range of issues in Congress, including universal health coverage, enhanced benefits for veterans and retirees, and both a foreign policy and an energy policy that protects Americans at home while advancing the nation’s interests abroad in Israel, the Middle East, and elsewhere.
