Reverend Dean Reed

Reverend Dean Reed grew up in Austin, TX, and the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. He earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Texas at Arlington and a master of divinity degree at Emory University, Candler School of Theology. He became a member of the United Methodist Central Texas Conference in 1988 where he has served four churches ranging in size from 500 to 2000 members.

Rev. Reed's long-standing awareness of his Scots-Irish immigrant roots and interest in Hispanic Ministry combined to create a compassion for migrants and a passion for immigration reform. He is co-founder of the Texas-based Welcoming Immigrants Network, is the Central Texas Conference coordinator for the Interagency Task Force on Immigration, serves on the Justice for Our Neighbors Regional and Conference Task Forces, as well as other local and regional boards.

Rev. Reed is married to Sandy and currently serves the Stephenville, Texas-based First United Methodist Church.
