Frank Pearl
Frank Pearl is High Commissioner for Peace and High Counselor for Social and Economic Reintegration in Colombia. He previously served as Presidential Advisor for Reintegration to President Álvaro Uribe, with the goal of assisting the Government of Colombia in developing the conditions necessary for a sustainable peace through the transformation of demobilized persons into committed citizens and the restoration of the social networks in the communities affected by violence.
Frank Pearl's distinguished private sector background includes stints as a consultant for McKinsey & Co. and as President of Valorem SA, a diversified company with holdings in telecommunications, shipbuilding, air transportation and financial services. From 2005 to 2007 he founded and led the Privy Council on Competitiveness, a group of businessmen and academics working to promote cooperation between the private sector and government on a long term development strategy. He has also been active in social and community organizations. He was a co-founder chainman of the board of NO MAS! (No more), the social and civic movement which organized national demonstrations calling for peace and reconciliation in Colombia. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of the Andes, Bogota, with post graduate study in law and administration. He also holds an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, in Canada.
