Alex Gibney is one of the world's foremost documentary film directors and is well known for crafting stories that take an unflinching look at the political landscape of America. His work as a writer/director includes: the 2008 Oscar-winning film Taxi to the Dark Side, the 2006 Oscar-nominated film Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, and the recent Magnolia Pictures release, Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, featuring Johnny Depp.

Among scores of other films as producer and director, Gibney served as executive producer for No End in Sight (Magnolia Pictures), which won the Special Jury Prize at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and was also nominated for an Oscar, and as the Series Producer for The Blues, an Emmy-nominated series of seven films in association with executive producer Martin Scorsese.
