JoAnne Arzt

JoAnne Arzt assumed her duties as the director of the Afghanistan Support Office in March 2009. She is charged with staffing the civilian increase in Afghanistan and following general management issues for the SRAP team.

A former Foreign Service Officer, JoAnne served overseas at the U.S. Embassies in Jordan, France, Abidjan as well as at the U.S. Mission to NATO in Brussels. In the State Department, she served in the executive offices of the Bureaus of Western Hemisphere Affairs, Near and South Asian Affairs, and European Affairs. She also was assistant chief of protocol. Most recently JoAnne was a senior advisor for biometrics in the Bureau of Consular Affairs.

A native of New York, JoAnne is married and lives in Washington D.C.
