Nanine Meiklejohn

Nanine Meiklejohn has over 25 years of experience in congressional relations, intergovernmental affairs and political organizing. She has worked for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees since 1973. She currently is a senior lobbyist for the union specializing in job training, unemployment insurance, social services and welfare, employee protections and privatization of public services. Nanine also has served as legislative director for the Coalition on Human Needs, a broad-based coalition of national organizations working on programs for low-income families. Before going to AFSCME, she spent 4 years working on employment and training and poverty issues at the U.S. Conference of Mayors and National League of Cities.
