Claudia Hillebrand

Claudia Hillebrand is in the final stage of her PhD programme and a Co-Convenor of the Security Research Group at the Department of International Politics, Aberystwyth University, United Kingdom. Her major research interests are the democratic legitimacy of European counter-terrorism policing as well as the parliamentary and judicial oversight of international police and intelligence cooperation. She was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship by the European Community to undertake her PhD research project. Claudia has recently published an extensive Policy Paper on the CIA's extraordinary rendition and secret detention programme and the European reactions.
