Issandr El Amrani

Issandr El Amrani is a Cairo-based writer and analyst. He recently worked as the International Crisis Group's Egypt/North Africa analyst and previously wrote about Middle Eastern affairs for various publications, including The Economist, The Times of London, Middle East Report, and others. He was a co-founder of Cairo Magazine and the editor of Cairo Times, both noted English-language publications in Egypt. Since 2003, he has published The Arabist (www.arabist.net), a popular group of blogs on Egyptian and Middle Eastern affairs.
