John R. Bowman
John R. Bowman currently serves as Director of Federal Relations for the American Association for Justice (formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America). In this role John manages AAJ advocacy efforts on transportation issues, insurance reform and judicial selection. John also works on arbitration and preemption issues. Prior to returning to AAJ, John served as Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. He served as the Congresswoman's primary advisor and managed the day-to-day operations of the DC and District offices. John suggested that Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz sign on to an amicus brief to the US Supreme Court in support of Diana Levine. John has been actively involved in consumer issues for more than a decade, having worked with Florida Legal Services and the National Association of Consumer Advocates. John also served as the Washington DC State Director for the Obama for America. There he directed all volunteer and field operations in support of the Obama Campaign. John was born and raised in Jackson MS, received a BS in Business Management from the University of Maryland at College Park and a JD from Florida State University. John currently resides in Arlington, VA.
