Jonah Blank
Jonah Blank is Chief Policy Advisor for South Asia, Central Asia and Archipelagic Southeast Asia on the Majority staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. In addition to his geographical portfolio, his brief includes issues ranging from counterterrorism to development assistance to nuclear proliferation. Before entering government service in 1999, Dr. Blank served as Senior Editor and foreign correspondent for US News & World Report, and has taught anthropology and politics at Harvard, Georgetown, and currently at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. An anthropologist by training, Dr. Blank is author of Mullahs on the Mainframe: Islam and Modernity Among the Daudi Bohras, and Arrow of the Blue-Skinned God: Retracing the Ramayana Through India.
