Christopher Mazzeo
Christopher Mazzeo leads the public policy and outreach work for the Consortium on Chicago School Research (CCSR) at the University of Chicago. CCSR conducts research to inform and assess policy and practice in Chicago Public Schools and nationally. Prior to joining CCSR, Chris served as an independent education policy consultant whose clients included MDRC, the Joyce Foundation, the Center for American Progress and the Brookings Institution, for whom he is currently writing a paper focused on improving college preparation and attainment outcomes among youth in major metropolitan areas in the United States. From 2001-2004, Chris was a senior policy analyst in the Education Division of the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices, where he worked on both secondary and postsecondary policy issues and co-directed the division’s work on school improvement and accountability. He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Educational Leadership at Baruch College of the City University of New York. Chris earned his AB from Columbia University in History and his Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Policy and Educational Practice from Stanford University in 2001.
