Pamela Perun
Dr. Pamela Perun is the policy director of the Initiative on Financial Security of the Aspen Institute. In its recent report, "Savings for Life: A Pathway to Financial Security for All Americans," the Initiative on Financial Security proposes four complementary savings vehicles to significantly improve savings options across the lifespan: Child Accounts, Home Accounts, America's IRA, and Security Plus Annuities. Her recent papers include "Why Not a 'Super Simple' Saving Plan for the United States?" (with C. Eugene Steuerle of the Urban Institute); "Towards a Sensible System for Saving," and "Reality Testing for Pension Reform." She also edits the Employee Benefits, Compensation and Pension Journal for the Social Science Research Network. She received a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, a Ph.D. in human development from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. from Wellesley College. She is a member of the Massachusetts, District of Columbia, and California Bar Associations.
