Davida Gatlin

Davida Gatlin is currently teaching 2nd and 3rd grade at Heritage School at Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic. She was a Thomas B. Fordham Fellow at the Center for American Progress in the fall of 2007 when she authored the report, "Thinking Outside the University: Innovation in Alternative Teacher Certification." Davida was one of eight Fordham Fellows chosen in the program's inaugural year in an effort to bring teacher's voices into the policy arena. Prior to her Fordham Fellowship, Davida was a Teach for America corps member in Houston, Texas and an English teacher in France. She holds a bachelor of arts in political science and a bachelor of arts in French Language and Literature from the North Carolina State University.
