Anne Shoup

Research Associate

Anne Shoup is a Research Associate for the Fellows Department. She does research for Senior Fellow Scott Lilly in the areas of governance, congressional ethics, federal budgeting, and the economy. Anne also serves as a Reel Progress Associate for American Progress's film series. In this capacity, Anne researches and secures films, organizes and manages screenings, and edits the Reel Progress newsletter. Before joining American Progress, Anne was the Assistant to the President of AmericaSpeaks, whose mission is to engage citizens in the policy decisions that impact their lives. In this position, Anne had the opportunity to work at several of AmericaSpeaks' town meetings, including the opening plenary session of the World Economic Forum's 2005 annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Originally from southwestern Pennsylvania, Anne graduated Magna Cum Laude from Allegheny College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Communication Arts. Anne is member of Phi Beta Kappa.
