Lucy Panza

Policy Analyst

Lucy Panza is a Policy Analyst with the Women’s Health and Rights Program at American Progress. She is a 2011-2012 reproductive justice fellow through Law Students for Reproductive Justice. While in law school, she served as the co-president of Georgetown Law Students for Reproductive Justice and managing editor of the Georgetown Journal of Modern Critical Race Perspectives. She also published her article there, examining the intersection of Latina ethnicity and reproductive autonomy. As a Public Interest Law Scholar, Lucy pursued internships with progressive organizations ranging from the National Partnership for Women & Families to the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, as well as the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary and the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. To round out her legislative lawyer training, Lucy participated in the Georgetown Federal Legislation and Administrative Clinic during her final semester of law school.

Prior to attending law school, Lucy worked as a paralegal in the Equal Employment Opportunity Project at the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, where she interviewed civil rights complainants and provided litigation support to plaintiff-side attorneys representing clients in employment discrimination cases.

Lucy received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. in political science and legal studies from New York University.
