Ann O'Leary
Senior Fellow
Ann O’Leary is a Senior Fellow at American Progress and is also the director of the Children and Families Program at the Center for the Next Generation in San Francisco and a lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. Previously, Ann has served as executive director of the Berkeley Center on Health, Economic & Family Security at UC Berkeley School of Law; a deputy city attorney for the city of San Francisco; legislative director to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton; and she spearheaded the children and family policy team on the White House Domestic Policy Council under President Bill Clinton.
Ann serves on the board of the East Bay Community Law Center, a legal clinic serving low-income members of the community. Ann previously served as a volunteer policy advisor to the Hillary Clinton for President campaign on issues related to children and working families and she served as a member of the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition team advising the incoming administration on early childhood education issues.
Ann received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, her M.A. from Stanford University, and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
