John Griffith
Research Associate
John Griffith is a Research Associate with the Economic Policy team at American Progress. His work focuses on housing policy, government efficiency, and budget analysis.
Prior to joining CAP, John worked as an analyst with the Social and Economic Policy Division of Abt Associates, where he conducted research on federal homeless assistance, affordable housing, and community development programs. Notably, John developed an algorithm to estimate prospective renovation costs in the nation’s public housing system and was a key quantitative analyst and contributing writer for HUD's Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress, a yearly survey of homelessness in the United States. John previously interned with the United Nations Environment Program in Geneva, Switzerland, and the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Villanova University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
