Tamara Chao

Special Assistant to the Executive VP for Policy

Tamara Chao is Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President for Policy, Melody Barnes. Originally from Oakland, CA, Tamara graduated cum laude from Tufts this past spring with a degree in International Relations. Cultivating a strong interest in Asia, she studied abroad in Beijing, China, interned for the Boston Consortium for Gender, Security and Human Rights, and played a lead role in the Tufts Initiative for Leadership and International Perspective program. Prior to joining American Progress, Tamara was a Dutko Fellow working with Visiting Fellow Shirley Sagawa on national service issues and human rights.
