Enough Research Assistant/Associate

Summary

Enough, a project of the Center for American Progress, has an immediate opening for a Research Assistant or Research Associate (depending on the candidate’s experience) to support the organization’s policy team. The position will contribute to the policy team’s research on prevention of crimes against humanity, with a specific focus on Sudan and the Lord’s Resistance Army.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct research on Enough’s focus countries and provide general assistance with various research projects and advocacy initiatives, particularly those involving Sudan and/or the Lord’s Resistance Army.
  • Draft and edit policy documents.
  • Contribute a range of content to Enough’s website, including blog posts, podcasts, audio clips, and other appropriate media.

Requirements:

  • Strong writing, editing, and copyediting skills.
  • Academic background or work experience in atrocity prevention, human rights, conflict prevention and resolution, and responsibility to protect.
  • Adept team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Committed to the organization’s missions and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least four years relevant work experience conducting research in international relations, political science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated skills in data collection and analysis, and use of key research directories and databases.
  • Good understanding of the conflicts covered by Enough—particularly Sudan and the Lord’s Resistance Army—and demonstrated ability to write professionally on these topics. Graduate studies in this are a plus.
