Lauren Sills is the Advocacy Associate for Generation Progress. Lauren works to advance progressive policies at the federal, state, and local levels of government through research, writing, speaking, and organizing events. Prior to joining Generation Progress, Lauren was a staff assistant for U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE). In this role, Lauren assisted senior-level staff with legislative duties and research on a variety of issues. Previously, she was a 10th- and 11th-grade special education teacher with Teach for America in Los Angeles, California.
Lauren earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and comparative women’s studies from Spelman College and a master’s degree in urban education from Loyola Marymount University.
