Lauren Santa Cruz

Video Producer

Lauren Santa Cruz is a Video Producer for American Progress. Before joining American Progress, Lauren worked as a freelance multimedia journalist with organizations such as Time and the Special Olympics.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Lauren received her B.A. in psychology and art from the University of Miami and completed her M.A. in multimedia journalism in December 2010.

As a graduate student, she worked with the Knight Center for International Journalism where she directed, produced, and edited award-winning international stories that spanned over four continents. Her work focused on a variety of issues ranging from primary education in India, to illegal immigration issues in the Dominican Republic, to dispelling negative stereotypes of Eastern European Roma peoples.
