Lauren Kokum is the Special Assistant for the Faith and Progressive Policy Initiative at American Progress. Lauren graduated from Hope College—home of the Flying Dutch—in Holland, Michigan, in 2014. She majored in political science with a concentration in international relations and a minor in social justice ministry. During her time as an undergraduate student, Lauren worked with various faith-based human rights organizations, as well as a four-year campus-wide fundraiser promoting equal access to primary education. Directly prior to her new role at American Progress, Lauren spent a semester in Hope’s Washington Honor’s Semester program and was an intern for the Faith and Progressive Policy Initiative.
