John Bradshaw

Executive Director, Enough Project

John Bradshaw is the Executive Director of the Enough Project at American Progress. Bradshaw is responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership for the Enough team. Prior to joining the Enough Project, Bradshaw served as Washington director of Physicians for Human Rights, or PHR. Since 2006, he directed PHR’s relations with Congress and the executive branch, and was responsible for developing and implementing policy and advocacy strategies on a wide range of human rights subjects, including issues arising from the conflict in Darfur, U.S. health policies in Africa and elsewhere, and U.S. interrogation and detention practices.

Bradshaw also served as the coordinator of the Human Rights Leadership Coalition, a group made up of 12 major U.S. human rights organizations, including PHR. He simultaneously worked as a senior advisor at the Open Society Policy Center. Prior to those experiences, Bradshaw was a Foreign Service Officer, serving in Venezuela, Brazil, and Burma, as well as in the State Department’s East Asia and Human Rights bureaus. He also served as a foreign policy advisor to Sens. Paul Wellstone (D-MN) and Robert Torricelli (D-NJ), both members of the Foreign Relations Committee. Earlier in his career, he was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines. Bradshaw received his B.A. in political science from Yale University and his J.D. from New York University School of Law.
