Campaign Manager of Education Policy, ThinkProgress War Room

American Progress has an immediate opening for a Campaign Manager of Education Policy. The Manager will collaborate with team members of the ThinkProgress War Room, the American Progress Education team, and external stakeholders to assist in grassroots and “grasstops” organizing and mobilization efforts principally to support state implementation of the Common Core State Standards.
Responsibilities: The Campaign Manager will focus on driving and supporting activity across a range of progressive organizations, advocacy groups, unions, and other stakeholders. The Manager will help provide strategic direction to the organizing efforts and will leverage the research capabilities and resources of American Progress to provide customized, actionable messaging, collateral, and research to a variety of progressive groups organizing on the education issue.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Excellent project-tracking and relationship-management skills.
- Experience managing progressive issue campaigns with a coalition of groups—and a breadth of existing relationships in progressive organizations. Experience on education reform issues a plus but not required.
- At least four years of experience in organizing, campaigns, legislative advocacy, coalition building, or related fields.
- Strong skills as a writer and researcher.
- Commitment to American Progress’s mission and goals.
