Summary

Are you the person your friends and family run to when their computer has issues? We have dozens of Macs and hundreds of PCs as well as our share of gremlins, so we can give you hands-on experience using professional-grade tools and techniques to fix the problems that arise while running a think tank that employs more than 200 people.

Join our Technical Support team as an intern and raise your skills to the next level. We are looking for a quick learner that is part firefighter, part nurse, and part CSI investigator. Your day will never be boring and we will make sure you have time to play with new technology and share in the American Progress experience by attending presentations from policy experts and participating in our rich internship program.

Every internship includes an important core of administrative work, including database management, report distribution, and general office support. Other duties include conducting targeted research and reporting on policy meetings, seminars, hearings, and lectures. Whenever possible, interns are encouraged to write on the subject of their choice either as a contributor to a larger final piece or as an individual author of a column for our website.

American Progress operates two separate nonprofit organizations to maximize our progressive agenda: The Center for American Progress and the Center for American Progress Action Fund. This job posting refers collectively to the two organizations under the name “American Progress.” The Center for American Progress is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) tax-exempt research and educational institute. It undertakes research, public education and a limited amount of lobbying. The Center for American Progress Action Fund is a non-partisan 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization dedicated to achieving progress through action. It works to transform progressive ideas into policy through rapid response communications, legislative action, grassroots organizing, political advocacy, and partnerships with other progressive leaders. The organizations share office space and employees.

American Progress is an equal opportunity employer; women, minorities, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
