Amber Monica Dixon

Amber Monica Dixon is the executive director for project initiatives for Buffalo Public Schools. She plans for the implementation of initiatives designed to support and enhance the Three Year Academic Achievement Plan. Ms. Dixon partners with the New York State Education Department and external agencies, community groups, and institutions of higher education, for support of these initiatives.

Ms. Dixon came to the Buffalo Schools in 1991 after spending the early years of her career in private industry. She began work in the district as a mathematics teacher at School #4. Ms. Dixon assumed her current position in January 2006.

Ms. Dixon is a graduate of Medaille College and the State University of New York at Buffalo. A Buffalo native, she is the mother of Sean Thomas Dixon, a Buffalo Public Schools graduate.
